About Me

Hi, I’m Chris Jackson, proud owner of The Cutting Board LLC. My love for food and serving others began at an early age. At just 15, I stepped into my first commercial kitchen, and from that moment on, I knew I had found my calling. Over the years, I worked my way through both commercial and restaurant kitchens, gaining hands-on experience and a deeper appreciation for the art of cooking.

As my two daughters grew older, I felt it was important to teach them the value of giving back. Together, we began volunteering, cooking for our church community and serving in soup kitchens across Connecticut. These experiences not only brought us closer but also reinforced my belief that food has the power to bring people together and make a real difference.

Starting The Cutting Board LLC is the realization of a lifelong passion. It’s more than a business, it’s a way to serve, share, and spread joy through food. I’m thrilled to embark on this journey and look forward to the many ways we can connect with and give back to our community.

Our
Story

How The Cutting Board came to fruition. Here is a picture of my girlfriend and I the summer of 2024. Enjoying the sunset on the beach with of course a charcuterie board and a glass of white wine. Life was good !!

Little did we know that on January 20, 2025 our life would be drastically changed. That was the day my girlfriend Amy (now fiance) was hit head on by a drunk driver who was traveling at a high rate of speed and crossed over the double yellow line. Our lives were consumed with pain, healing from broken bones, recovering from surgery and head trauma. In the upcoming months Amy was unable to return to work as an Occupational Therapist. The winter months were long and days were dark. She needed a distraction. That’s where my love for food and Amy’s need for a distraction came together. We began talking about hopes and dreams, spending days / weeks on Pinterest brainstorming together of what could be. I had the passion and the dream and Amy now had time to help me research. One thing led to the next and before you know it “The Cutting Board LLC” was born.

There is no greater gift than having someone believe in you — in your passion, your dream — and helping you bring it to life. That’s what Amy did for me.

Life is Good !
